The way I see it...
Being in nature feels like a secret world that if I sit still long enough in, will eventually unfold more deeply around me. It’s then that I capture moments in time usually unseen by most people. A favorite subject of mine to shoot includes the bright sky-blue of the male Mountain Bluebird; especially during breeding season!
He works tirelessly convincing the female Mountain Bluebird he has indeed found the perfect nest box to be their home for the season. Flitting all about flashing those dazzling blue wings as he leads her to the top of the box where he feeds her worms and insects. He waits patiently (sometimes days) for her to give a sign she agrees with him. Once she determines it’s the right home, she begins to fill the box with tiny branches to build their nest.
These special moments in time are what I seek with my camera. Hours literally slip by while I wait for nature’s wondrous moments to unfold before my lens. My sincerest wish is to share a little bit of this magic with you through my photographs and hopefully brighten your day, knowing the hidden natural world around us is alive and brimming with charm and wonder.
